Free Boiler Replacement Grant
Are you a homeowner, live with a homeowner at the same address, low income household, or over 60?
You can replace your old, inefficient boiler with a brand new, A-rated model – absolutely free.
Only non-condensing boilers, combi or system boilers, back boilers, and floor-standing boilers (installed before 2005) are eligible for the ECO4 Grant.
Free Boiler Replacement Grant
Under the ECO4 Grant, you can get a free boiler replacement if you meet certain conditions. You must own your home or live with someone who does, and you must receive at least one of the qualifying government benefits as mentioned at the bottom. Your current boiler should be a non-condensing one, usually installed before 2005.
The ECO4 Grant helps make homes more energy-efficient to support the government’s goal of zero carbon emissions by 2050. The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government scheme in Great Britain run by Ofgem. ECO4 is the fourth phase of this project, which started on 1st April 2022, and will continue until 2026.
How Do I Know Whether my Boiler is Non-condensing?
To find out if your boiler is condensing or non-condensing, check the following:
Age of the Boiler:
If your boiler was installed before 2005, it’s probably a non-condensing model. Condensing boilers have been mandatory in the UK since 2005.
Efficiency Rating::
Condensing boilers are much more efficient. If your boiler has an efficiency rating of 86% or less, it’s likely non-condensing.
Condensate Pipe:
Condensing boilers produce some water that is drained away through a condensate pipe. Look for a white plastic pipe under the boiler, alongside copper pipes, that runs into a kitchen or garden drain. Non-condensing boilers don’t have this pipe

To qualify for the ECO4 Grant, you must be a homeowner or live with a homeowner at the same address and receive at least one of the following benefits.

ECO4 Grant Eligibility
- Must be a Homeowner or private tenant
- Home with a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC rating)
- Must receive at least one of these benefits
- Property must have an EPC rating of lower D, E, F, or G
- Inefficient heating system preferred for upgrade benefits
- Low income (Less Than £31,000 annual household income)

Excellent Experience
After I got in touch with Apply for a Government Grant, they quickly sent out a surveyor who was super helpful and able to answer all my questions. The installation was scheduled within the next 2 days, and the engineers worked 8 hours to install my new combi boiler. They were really polite and helpful throughout the process.....

Punctual and on time.

Sticking to their Words.
