Who Can Apply for the Government Boiler Scheme?

  • Homeowners or someone who lives with the homeowner at the same address.
  • Boiler installed before 2005
  • Home EPC rating should be E, F or G.
  • Existing boiler was installed before 2005 (non-condensing boiler).
Must be the recipient of the following benefits:
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support Allowance
  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Pension Credit Saving Credit
  • Housing Benefit
Properties That Are Not Eligible:
  • Park Homes
  • Counsel Properties
  • Flats/communal flats

How Do I Know My Boiler Is Non-Condensing?

Without consulting a professional, check any of the three signs of a non-condensing boiler as mentioned below:

Boiler Age

If your boiler was installed before 2005, it is most likely a non-condensing boiler.

Boiler Efficiency

If your boiler has an ErP of 84.6% or below, it is likely a non-condensing one. A condensing boiler has efficiency higher than 92%.

Pipe Beneath Boiler

Condensing boilers usually have a white plastic pipe underneath it along with copper pipes. Non-condensing boilers do not have white plastic pipe because they do not produce condensed water when running.
