Why every plan includes a battery.
A battery stores the energy your panels make in the day so you use it in the evening, when electricity is dearest. Without one, a typical UK home uses only around half of the solar it generates and exports the rest for a few pence a unit. A battery lifts the share you use yourself to roughly 70 to 80%, and that is where most of the extra saving comes from. Your own figure is confirmed in your EPVS-validated design.
